SUMMER CAMP 2009

The 1st Annual Calvary Tabernacle Family Summer Camp
June 28 - July 3
Smiley Creek, Idaho

We packed, piled up and headed over Galena Summit (about 2 hours). Then, about 4 miles down a dusty road, we come to our campsite. About 8 familes spent the week fellowshipping, boating, dirt bike riding, shooting and just hangin' out. A couple evenings, after dark, we put up a big screen and played preaching DVDs. WE HAD CHURCH IN THE MOUNTAINS! It was fabulous!

We pitched our large tent and set up camp. Bummer there were no bathrooms...this was full on roughin' it. We did bring a port-a-potty for the ladies and small children. That helped. The week was fun (except the mosquitos - those are NEVER fun).

Here are some pictures from our week.

On the dirt road meant we all could get out of the car seats. Eventually all the kidos ended up in the front with me and Jeff.
Our first night around the campfire, Jeff got out his guitar and Emily LOVED to sing.

The campfire - night #1
Three little ones all tucked in.

The view from the "kitchen".

Emily and Jared play a child version of horseshoes one afternoon. Emily had to wear her new bike helmet (pink Barbie)!
Elizabeth Joy through the screened side of her play pen.

Jeff eating dinner.

Me trying to feed the chillies.

Katie loved to play with Effie's kitten.

One afternoon, we headed to Alturus Lake for some boating. The water was so cold (it is directly from the snow covered mountains). Jeff actually knee boarded!

Dirt bikes were a big part of our camp week. Even the little ones had theirs with training wheels. Kadon (3rd), got a new dirt bike just days before the trip. So, as a surprise to Jared, he gave his "old" one to Jared. Jared was so excited that he hugged his neck! It took a few days for Jared to get comfortable, but you should see him now. Last day - some of the children by the small creek. (from left to right: Joseph, Emily, Miguel, Maria, Brooklyn, Katie)

On our way home, Jeff got a Red Bull before heading out. Elizabeth LOVED the cold can.

Our poor Katie Sue. The mosquitos LOVED her. She was covered and sprayed with repelent, but they still ate her up. I counted 23 bites onher face. Her hair was in pig tails, but she pulled them out on the drive home. This picture makes me laugh...my lil einstein.
