SUMMER 2008

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Emily's first day of "school". She goes to the Toddler Lab 2 days each week for 1 1/2 hours each time. At first she was a bit shy, but warmed up right after snack time. She loves it!

FAIR
Grandma Sue and Papa took the children to the Twin Falls County Fair. Their cousins Tristan, Ethan and Maddison also joined them. They all had such a great time riding rides and eating all the junk food they wanted! Even Katie got to enjoy some rides.

HAWAII
We went to a Hawaiin themed birthday party for a friend of ours. We got all dressed up and had a fun time at the party.

YOGURT PAINTING
Emily and Jared were painting one afternoon. So, I put Katie in her highchair and let her "paint' with yogurt. She loved it, but definetly made a mess!

MISCELLANEOUS

Here are some miscellaneous pictures of the children just hanging out this summer.

We have ONE apricot tree in our yard. This year, we decided to do something with them. So, we have been very busy this summer picking apricots and throwing the bad ones over the fence for the horses next door. We spend many hours picking, pitting, blending and freezing. I recently made some jam and syrup. Eight dozen jars and still plenty of apricots left. Keep posted in your mailbox for a treat! (Really, send me your address and I will mail you some jam!)

4TH OF JULY
For 4th of July, we went to Murphy's Hot Springs to the cabin. Emily loved fishing and Jared even went floating down the river with his dad.

DEDICATION

On Sunday, June 22, 2008, we dedicated Katie at our church, Calvary Tabernacle. The pastor preached a great message about being godly parents and the importance of raising our children in godly homes. Katie was 16 months. It was a blessed day. Bob & Sue (parents), Kayla & Owen (sister & nephew) and Lacey & Ally (sister-in-law & neice) joined us for this celebration.

A FISHING WE WILL GO

One Friday night we decided to go fishing for our family outing. We ordered pizza to go, got some soda and headed to Niagra Springs (about 40 minutes away). This was where Jared caught his first fish and it only seemed appropriate for Emily's first fishing trip. She caught 4 fish and was so excited. Daddy had to put the worms on, but she loved fishing. Katie and I took pictures and walked around. It was a great evening (until the mosquitos started biting).

A DAY IN THE SNOW

Well, Christmas time has past and I guess it was time to finally take down the lights on the house and the fence. So, after we finished our duties, we decided to have some fun in the snow since it had recently snowed A LOT in the past few days. Jeff ran to the store and bought a sled and we rode behind the 4 wheeler in the pasture. It was very fun! Afterwards, we all came inside for some hot cocoa. It was a great Saturday afternoon.

Jared, Katie and Emily pose for a picture. The trampoline which you see behind them was actually blown there several nights before. It WAS back between the garage and the house. We came home from church on Sunday night and discovered the new home right in front of the house. We still are not sure how it avoided the tree that was in front of the tramopoline. Winds here can get pretty powerful. We will wait for the snow to melt before putting it back where it goes.

The kids decided it was just as much fun to ride the 4 wheeler as it was to ride the sled. Dad takes them for a ride.

Can't ride a 4 wheeler with this much snow and not go 4 bying (is that how you spell it?) HOLD ON KIDS!
